Paws & Reflect Volunteer Observation Program

Calling all active QCAWC volunteers who have completed orientation training! We’re thrilled to introduce our new Paws & Reflect Volunteer Observation Program!

This fun and meaningful initiative is an easy way to help get our animals adopted. As a volunteer, you’ll share your observations of the animals in our care by jotting down notes in their notebooks or submitting them digitally. 

What is our goal with these notebooks?

It's simple! Use this space to jot down fun, heartwarming, or interesting things you see or know about the animals. These notes will be turned into engaging posts for our website and Facebook to help showcase their unique personalities and find them loving homes. Volunteers may choose to submit notes about cats, dogs, or small animals!

What should you include?

Animal’s Name: Clearly write the name of the animal you’re observing.

Your Observations:

• Fun or quirky behaviors (e.g., loves to chase balls, always greets with a happy tail wag).
• Special talents or tricks (e.g., knows how to sit, spins for treats).
• Favorite toys, treats, or activities.
• Sweet or funny moments (e.g., loves belly rubs, makes biscuits while purring loudly).
• Personality traits (e.g., shy but warms up, super playful, a total lap cat).
• Your Name: Be sure to sign your entry so we can follow up if we have questions.

How can you submit notes?

You have two easy options to share your observations:

1. Write in the notebooks located in our Adoption Center lobby on the wall just above the bookshelf
2. Submit a digital note, photos, or videos by scanning the QR codes posted around the shelter or clicking this link: Paws & Reflect Form

Please keep in mind:

• Feel free to write or submit as often as you’d like. More observations mean more stories to share!
• If you’re not sure about something, ask a staff member or leave a note for clarification.
• Try to keep notes short & sweet. Just a sentence or two is great!
• By submitting a note, photo, or video, you are giving us permission to share it on our social media platforms.
• Please keep the notebooks in their designated area so they’re always available.
