Paws Forward Program

Paws forward

Enriching Lives, One Tail at a Time.

Our Paws Forward Program is a shelter animal enrichment and training program designed to help both animals and people. Even though we strive to make our shelter as welcoming as possible, it’s still a drastic change for pets who suddenly find themselves here. The noise, new people, and unfamiliar routines can cause fear, anxiety, stress, and frustration.

That’s why we created Paws Forward—to give shelter animals the enrichment, training, and support they need to thrive. With the guidance of our on-staff trainer and the dedication of our volunteers, animals in this program receive:

  • Enrichment activities for mental and physical stimulation

  • Behavior modification and confidence-building exercises

  • One-on-one training sessions that increase adoptability

  • Post-adoption training support to ease the transition into a new home. Dogs who are in need of behavior modification go home with THREE free training sessions from Janette Park with KindK9s!

From Stress to Success—Helping Pets Thrive. By focusing on training and enrichment, we provide hope for a brighter future and help more animals find—and keep—their forever homes.

But we can’t do it alone. Your support makes this possible.
