Volunteering

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, you will need to attend orientation and training. This is held the first Wednesday of every month at 5:30 P.M. We do not hold an orientation and training in December. If you have any questions or would like information, please contact Stacey by email or by at 309-787-6830. A parent must accompany volunteers under 16 years of age. Our January 2014 Volunteer Training has been moved to Wednesday, January 8th.

The Quad City Animal Welfare Center (QCAWC) is seeking retired people from the medical or veterinarian field to volunteer in our low cost spay/neuter clinic. Volunteer opportunities will include checking in clients, assisting at our front desk, sterilizing surgical instruments, cleaning, assisting with client pick up, recovering, and other duties as assigned under the direct supervision of a licensed veterinarian. Volunteer hours are Monday through Friday during the hours of Noon to 5:00 pm., half days are available. If you are retired and have experience as a nurse, nursing assistant, veterinarian technician, veterinarian assistant, or related fields and are interested in more information, please contact Stacey Teager at 309-787-6830 ext. 12 or email stacey@qcawc.org.
