Disaster Preparedness

Most disaster shelters will not accept pets because of health and safety regulations, so it is imperative that you have determined where you will take your pets. Here are some suggestions:

Contact your veterinarian.
Contact hotels and motels to find out if they are "pet friendly."
Ask friends and relatives outside your immediate area if they would be willing to take in your pet.

Note: Hotels, motels, and boarding facilities will need written proof of current vaccinations for your animal. QCAWC offers a low cost vaccination clinic every Wednesday & Friday* starting at noon and the first Saturday of every month starting at 10:00 am. Your pet must be current on vaccinations.

*Fridays March through September only.
